Well it might be a bit longer than that.  I am not going to post here again while I get my new site ready.  Once it is ready, I will let you know the new url and feed and all that stuff.  In the meantime, hope you had a nice long weekend (if you had one!) and take care.

It has been sometime since I last considered my list. Since it is a popular hit on my blog (people would rather look at pictures of pretty men than read the crap I come out with apparently), I thought I would have another look. I am changing things up though and this time I am picking winners in five different categories. Oh and I will also mention the runners-up so you know how hard it was to make my choice! I have spent WAY too much time on this. Also, I found it really hard to find pics which truly showed off the awesomeness of the guys I chose. I like to think this is because I like them for their 3-D versions more than just their pretty looks. Or it could be because I am one plane ticket away from being a professional stalker.

I know this is really boring if you don’t like football or don’t even know who this team is but I am so happy that Manchester United won the Champions League (10 days after winning the Premiership).   I will admit I cried.  I haven’t cried at a game we have won since the last time we won it. 

Can I just say as well that it was VERY close.  I have never supported a team that has won on penalties before, so I was not optimistic.  I do feel bad for John Terry who is the only Chelsea player I actually think is OK.  He fell over.  This still made me chortle though (thanks Si! sorry JT).

There has been a right old kerfuffle in the blogging community about the trademark infringement which confused the site now called Kirtsy (formerly sk*rt) with the super brilliant magazine for women, skirt!. I have no issue with Kirtsy – the site seems to be full of lifestyle links aimed at women. But I was a bit disheartened to read the slamming of the skirt! magazine for their defence (quite rightly) of their brand. To prove the point, I had seen a Sk*rt button on the blog of one of Kirtsy’s editors but had ignored it, thinking it was related to skirt! And since I already had that wonderful site bookmarked, I did not see the need to click through. In fact, it is only with the kerfuffle that I even visited the Kirtsy site so instead of complaining, they ought to be glad of the publicity! The reason I was so disheartened about all the negativity and nastiness is that this crap came predominantly from women, the very women who the skirt! magazine aims to support and celebrate. There is already enough crap out there without the blogging community adding to it with this ill-informed slamming. Its actually a bit embarrassing reading the comments. I think they need to get a little perspective.

I am writing this because Aleigh, one of skirt!’s editors, asked any fans of the magazine to blog about why they love skirt!. So here goes:

I love skirt! because the articles are well-written, witty, informative, thought-provoking and varied. I love skirt! because there are precious few sites that cater for women’s intellectual needs, not just their needs for buying cool shit. I love skirt! because it gives me insight into other communities and lives. I love skirt! because it inspires me. I love skirt! because I feel part of a community in its own right, even though I live far away. I wish there was a skirt! Warwick or a skirt! UK for that matter! Go and check it out if you haven’t done so already.

I am now a proud owner of a new phone – a Sony Ericsson K770i in Truffle Brown.  So perty.

I have not been very chatty lately, mainly due to the fact that I have been über-busy and also I have an essay to write, due Friday (dun-dun DUUUN).

I fully intend to write about all the cool stuff we have been up to (2 weddings, a Christening, an anniversary, a 60th birthday celebration to give you some idea) but right now I should be working on my essay so no dice.  Well, actually, since it is the middle of the day, I should be working so I am off to do that now and will catch you all later.  In the meantime, during a trip to my favourite city, Manchester, after a family funeral (oh yes, I have been to one of those too), my parents and I were walking back to the car in the city centre after having colelcted the will from the solicitors and Dad noticed this unassuming little pub. 

It was where Mum and Dad first got together, some 40 years ago.  28th June will be their 39th wedding anniversary.

According to the email that was sent to me with this clip, these people were always finding water all over their pool deck and furniture every time they came home after being away for a few hours.

They thought the neighborhood kids were waiting for them to leave and then using the pool. However, they could never catch them doing it.  So they set up their video camera and left. This is what they found out!
