I heart RND 07

17 03 2007

Yesterday was Red Nose Day which means last night was Comic Relief night. I only watched up to about midnight then taped the rest but what I did see was definitely the best RND ever.

The highlights for me were:

Peter Kay’s Brian Potter and Matt Lucas’s Andy Pikin singing The Proclaimers’ (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles in a fake Pro Celebrity Karoke competition. GO AND BY THE SINGLE NOW (I already have!).

Tony Blair telling Catherine Tate’s Lauren character “am I bovvered though”.

And best of all, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Jamie Oliver, Andi Peters, Bob Geldolf and Bono in the funniest Comic Relief sketch I have ever seen.

I laughed all night watching the great sketches with hundreds of stars from comedy, music, television and film. And I cried watching the various films showing suffering, kindness, bravery, fear, loneliness and poverty.

Off now to have a Guinness. Even though I am not Irish. Well technically, I am as apparently my ancestors were from there but that was probably 500 years ago or something.
